New Year’s Resolution – Veganuary Campaign
Have you guys heard about the ‘Veganuary Campaign’? Well, if you’re looking for a way to lose a few extra pounds for the new year, it might be worth giving this a try.
It basically involves trying a vegan diet for the month. Veganuary is also a charity which was set up in 2013. It seeks to inspire people to try veganism for January, and continue with it for the rest of the year, if possible. 😊
Did you know that 87% of people who took part in the Veganuary Campaign last year claim that they were able to lose weight during that month?
Going vegan is also likely to reduce the likelihood of developing cancers, heart disease, and diabetes.
Well, we think these are good enough reasons to give it a go, as well as wanting to save some animals of course!
Not to mention the positive impact that you’ll also make in the world, (i.e. environmental factors).
Setting yourself the challenge is not as hard as you might think…
If you want a healthier start to your year, then read on!
The first question that you might ask yourself is, ‘where will I get my protein from?’
Don’t worry, you won’t end up starving yourself! Lol.
It’s a myth that you must eat meat in order to get enough protein. There is obviously lots of protein in meat, but this doesn’t mean that you can’t find it in other food.
You’ll be able to get loads of protein from things like pulses, nuts, tofu, seeds, quinoa, beans, lentils, seeds, pasta, brown rice, potatoes, seitan, tempeh, soy, and vegetables. All you need to do is ensure that your diet is balanced.

So far, this month there are tens of thousands of people committing to eating a vegan diet. This is up from just 1,500 people in 2014. The UK is the biggest market in the world when it comes to signing up to the Veganuary campaign, followed closely by the US. More than 120,000 people around the world have so far committed to going vegan through the campaign.
