Boiler Service

Broken boilers are a nightmare. No heating or hot water in the winter time is more than inconvenient, it’s painful, and yet a lot of breakdowns are totally avoidable.
A regular Service will prevent any breakdowns and maintain a healthy boiler system.
We offer 2 types of Services, a General Boiler Service and a Full Boiler Service.
The General Boiler Service is more for boilers that are less than 5 years old or have a full service history. We give the appliance a general inspection and clean out.
The Full Boiler Service is recommended for boilers older than 5 years or without any service history. We check the gas boiler, the vital parts, controls and components.

The beginning of winter is our busiest callout time, with houses using central heating for the first time in months. A bit of planning, and a prior visit from us to Service your boiler, will save you time and money in the long term!

Our fully qualified Gas Safe registered engineers are here to repair your boiler. We work on all models and makes of boilers to fault find, repair and replace parts. Our breakdown engineers carry a limited amount of stock on them so from time to time we may need to collect any parts that are required from our nearest suppliers or may have to order them in and visit your property at an alternative time when the parts have arrived. We work closely with manufacturers and suppliers to source parts as quickly as possible to ensure we get your heating fixed promptly and efficiently.

MJC Plumbing are qualified to work on and install all types of vented and un-vented hot water and heating systems. This includes traditional stored water systems, combination boilers and high efficiency condensing boilers.
Your choice of boiler depends on where it’s being installed. Different sized establishments all have different needs and suit different boilers. We offer a completely Free Quotation Service and our prices are very competitive so we supply and fit the specific machine that is best suited to your individual requirements.
Here, though, is an overall guide to the different types of boilers that are available:

Combination Boilers

Combination boilers, as the name suggests, combinealt
most of the components of a conventional system
i.e. boiler, cylinder, pump, control valves and ther-
mostats. Together, these are housed in one unit (The
Combi). The technology involved with this type of boiler
has improved at a dramatic rate over the last five
years. Where, not so long ago, a combi would only
produce nine litres of hot water per minute at 35°. Nowadays they can produce up to eighteen litres a
minute at 35°. This is why they now account for most
new boilers found in the UK today. In general,
combination boilers best suit flats
and small houses.

Conventional Boilers alt

A Conventional system (as opposed to a combi
system) is one where a cold water storage tank,
a hot water storage cylinder, a heat only boiler and
separate controls are installed to provide primarily
a greater volume of hot water. This type of system is
more suitable for larger houses with two or more
bathrooms where hot water demand at several taps
is likely to be simultaneous. Conventional boilers best suite bigger houses.

Energy Efficiency

Here at MJC Plumbing we are fully qualified to install the very latest high-efficiency Greenstar boilers. Not only do these produce minimal emissions of Nitrous Oxide and Carbon Dioxide – meaning they’re both safer and better for the environment. But they all carry a SEDBURK Band A efficiency rating – the highest. Which is great for you since they’re more than 90% efficient.

Basically, your boiler is more efficient, and yet you pay less on your bills. This is because you burn less gas producing heat and hot water. Plus there’s a host of advanced features and our own aftersales care to ensure you get the very best from your installation.

With the 21st Century technology comes 21st Century styling. The boilers blend beautifully with all modern appliances in even the most luxurious of kitchens. In fact, with these modern streamlined machines, flexibility is key.
